DirectConnect™ Folding system: New for 2016 is the DirectConnect folding system, which removes the quick release from the top tube, provides an easier folding experience and larger clamping surface between the two halves of the frame. A flip of the quick release lever and your bike folds to a compact size.
Folding Integrated Technology: The Urban frame is designed around another patented system that allows the bike to fold without any breaks in the frame’s tubing. Not only does this make it easier to fold, but it makes Montague bikes the strongest folding bike on the market. The Folding Integrated Technology (F.I.T.) is based around the same frame construction concepts as serious full suspension downhill bikes.
Octagon: The Octagon handlebar system allows for tool free bar height adjustment in seconds. Comfortable riding is just the flip of a lever away.
Disc Brakes: The Navigator is equipped with disc brakes. They offer quicker response, more stopping power, and better performance in wet weather than traditional rim brakes.
RackStand: RackStand is a luggage carrier, mudguard, kickstand, and work stand all in one. A quick release allows it to rotate under the rear wheel on a specially designed axle mount. When in the lowered position it acts as a kickstand or workstand, makes folding your Montague easier, and allows the folded bike to be stored or displayed upright.
Electric Motor System: 750w Bafang BBS02 with 30A controller and 48t chainring, 52v 7Ah Panasonic GA Mighty Mini battery with 30 amp continuous 50amp maximum BMS, color display, left thumb throttle (optional) and dual brake cutoff.

This is a solid full-size yet folding electric bike with no compromises at an awesome value. Chuck set me up with one of these custom bikes and I am very pleased.
The Bafang middrive motor is smooth, quiet, and efficient if you use your gears correctly. As far as range goes, I haven't run the battery empty yet, but I estimate that on a full charge using the lower levels of assist most of the time you can get around 50+ miles on it. For reference, I am about 155lbs, so if you weigh more it'll drop the range a bit. If that isn't enough, the batteries only weigh 3 lbs and are tiny, so you could easily get a spare and carry it with you. The rackstand on these bikes is just plain cool and super handy.
Folding this bike is pretty easy. More importantly, the bike doesn't fold along any part of the structural frame, so it doesn't introduce a potential weakness in the frame when you're moving at 25+ mph.
Everything else that comes stock on the bike works great. The disc brakes, handlebars, tires, and seat all work really well and make for an awesome ride. This bike has made commuting much more fun, healthy, and eco friendly. Definitely consider this custom design if you're in the market. You probably won't find a better value in this range.
