This is the standard longest range replacement BOSCH ebike battery and fits all mid-drive Bosch electric bike motor systems in North America. With 36 volt, 13.4 Amp hour capacity, the PowerPack 500 provides 25% more range than the previous 400 Watt hour PowerPacks and only weighs a few ounces more.
The Bosch standard charger works with both the PowerPack400 and the PowerPack 500. The Lithium-ion battery requires about two hours to charge 50% and the PowerPack 500 takes approx. 4.5 hours to charge with the Bosch standard charger.
The advantages of Bosch rechargeable batteries:
No memory effect
Bosch batteries with lithium-ion cells can be charged quickly irrespective of your charge level at any time. Interruptions of the charging process do not harm the battery. Complete discharge is not required.
Extremely low self-discharge
Even after long periods of storage, e.g. over winter, the battery can be used without recharging. This means Bosch rechargeable batteries do not need to be recharged after a long break in use. For longer storage, a charge status of approx. 30 to 60% is recommended.
Long service life
Bosch batteries are designed for lots of trips, miles and years of service. The intelligent, electronic Bosch battery management system (BMS) protects lithium-ion batteries from excessive temperatures, overcharging, and deep discharge. The BMS checks every cell, extending the life of the rechargeable battery. This makes the time from initial use to the need to replace a Bosch battery very long.
