The Cyclone IV Trekking Bicycle Trailer is the fourth generation of the multiple award-winning Cyclone bike trailer. The Cyclone Bicycle Trailers have been used all over the world for cycling holidays, long bike rides and expeditions. Due to its robustness, very low rolling resistance and quick conversion to a duffle bag, the Cyclone IV Trekking is the perfect trailer for any bike trip with luggage. Available in two versions: one for bikes with 16-20 inch rear wheel and one for bikes with 26-29 inch rear wheel. The trailers currently in stock are for 26-29" wheels.
The Cyclone is a two-wheeler so it keeps itself in balance and the behavior of the bike is not affected. You can park your bike with the trailer still attached during a break without risking it to capsize. With the tow bar connecting to the bike's rear hub, your bike's rear is still available for a child carrier or luggage.
At home the Cyclone folds away real small, on the road it sports a capacity of 100 liters and 40 kg. The bag opens all around for maximum accessibility, using a 10mm YKK zipper with two lockable sliders. The TIG welded frame bushings guarantee a strong and secure connection of the wheels to the frame, even at high loads and speeds. The wheels are equipped with industrial closed bearings, ensuring minimal rolling resistance and maximum security.
When the wheels are inserted in the rear axle bushings, the Cyclone IV can be used as a walking trailer. This way you can easily cover considerable distances, even with fully loaded trailer.
When transporting the Cyclone by train, tow-bar and wheels can be detached with a twist of the hand, which visually leaves only a big duffle bag. The optional wheel cover attaches the wheels to the duffle bag, the tow-bar can easily be stored inside. The shoulder strap and the two big handles make it easy to lift.
The Cyclone IV comes with a rain cover. The Cyclone rain cover is a lightweight solution to keep your trailer and its contents dry and clean. At only 150 grams, this small package will alway find a place in the huge Cyclone bag. When a shower comes, the cover is attached in seconds and securely velcroed around the tow-bar connector. Many people leave it on all day, no matter the weather, as its protection against dirt is just as much appreciated.
The hitch fits on virtually any bike, whether with dropout or fixed rear axle and is made of stainless steel. It can be ordered separately to make more bikes 'Cyclone-compatible'. The tow bar can be detatched in seconds. this requires only one hand, so the other hand can hold the bike. Feels safe, when your kid is still in the child carrier of your bike.
As for all our products, all materials that we use to build a Cyclone are available separately. That means that if you have had a little accident with the trailer, we can fix it for you. If you are on the other side of the world then we can send the necessary parts so you can resume your trip in no time.

I just wanted to thank you again for getting the Radical Design trailer to me in time for me to use during my Oregon Coast Bike Tour. We completed the tour last weekend with the trailer in tow and I am happy to report that it lived up to all my “high expectations!" Most surprisingly, even after a full day of unseasonably heavy rain (even the locals were complaining), it kept my gear dry! Great handling, up and down mountains and at high speeds….I’m not sure a trailer can be designed any more efficiently. My only complaint: I lost my Radical Design Safety Flag while riding over one of Oregon’s infamous bridges: I think Radical Design needs to build-in safety clips (into the masts), so that if the sections come apart you don’t lose them. Let me know if you ever get the Radical Design safety flags in stock…I’ll need another (I ordered my first one direct from Radical Design as I couldn’t find them States-side).
Again, thanks for getting the trailer to me on time!
